L-Carvone, also known as L-(-)-Carvone, mint oil, or 2,3-Dimethyl-5-isopropenylcyclohexanone-1, is poorly soluble in water. It serves as a flavoring agent in foods such as chewing gum, is a primary ingredient in compounding flavors for gummy candies, and is also used in compounding flavors for toothpaste and similar products.
